Founded in 1997, state-owned UGORIA Insurance Company has grown into one of the nation’s largest publicly held insurers. UGORIA is an open joint stock company. The Company's only shareholder is Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug – Yugra.

UGORIA has a comprehensive product portfolio, comprising 75 personal and corporate insurance products. They include whole life and term insurance, commercial products, property, casualty and auto insurance, and more.

UGORIA's nationwide network has been at the core of the Company's success. Insurance sales in our 65 regional offices supported by a field force of nearly 180 agencies located in 61 Russian regions, accounted for over 80 percent of the insurance premium earned by the Company. UGORIA’s authorised share capital has increased from 50 million roubles in 1997 to 1,833 million roubles in 2007. The annual earned premium was also at record levels, with an increase of more than 57 percent over the past five years, this is twice above the industry average.

UGORIA provides tailored insurance services for a broad range of companies, such as oil and gas producers, airlines, financial and administrative structures and small to medium sized businesses. The Company currently works in conjunction with 200 leading Russian banks.
